The Africa Institute for HIV/AIDS Management, a non-profit organization linked to the Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management at Stellenbosch University where Prof. Jan B. Du Toit is Director, will kick off its second 2010 instalment of the “South African Artists for Aids Awareness” concert. An event not to be missed during the world cup games in the Western Cape.

The first sold out concerts were held on January 22, 23 and 24, 2010 at Oude Libertas Amphitheatre in Stellenbosch. A successful celebration honoring individuals who do tireless and selfless work in the HIV/AIDS field and motivating the general public with heightened awareness. Through the creative arts such as dance, music, theatre, photography and comedy the aim is to continue inspiring more people of their individual responsibility to eradicate the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa and globally.

Singer, actor, performer and the first appointed UNAIDS Special Goodwill Ambassador to South Africa and Goodwill Ambassador for the MKI, Jimmie Earl Perry will be joined by the popular South African tv and radio host Soli Philander, cabaret artist Godfrey Johnson, 13 year old vocalist Kaylim Davids, Rouchelle Liedemann, Janelle Visagie, international athletes and many more exceptionally talented guests. Supporting this huge musical evening will be the Mike Campbell Rhythm Orchestra. Bringing you a powerful classical, pop, adult contemporary and jazz evening that will inspire you, bring you to your feet with hands clapping in joyful celebration.
